Shiver M’Timbers

Are you looking to host Pirate Party for your Childs Birthday, well here are some ideas that I have put together for you, I hope you like them and find some ideas that’ll work for you.

So are you ready to transform your house into a Desert Island or your garden into a Pirate Ship, You may only host a Pirate Party once so you’ll want to make it a party to remember.

For the perfect Pirate Party you’ll need to organise Invitations, Decorations, Activities, Games, Costumes, Favors, Party Food and of course the cake.

Yes when you write it down it does seem like a lot of work, but no one said it was going to be easy, but just imagine the look of pleasure on your childs face, when their friends come and they have lots of fun.

Invitations

When hosting a party the Invitation is a must, you need to let your guest know when your having your party, where, what time and of course who’s Birthday it is.

Whether you want to buy invitations or you feel like making your own.

Treasure Map Invites
Every Pirate is in search of hidden treasure so why not turn your invite into a Treasure Map, If your like me and find it difficult to draw why not print off a ready made map of your street online and Mark your house with and X and place it on the back of your invite.
You could make it look authentic by burning the edges or staining the paper using cold tea.

Message in a Bottle Invitation
The kids will love receiving their party invitation in a bottle as it makes much more interesting than a normal one in an envelope.
Using an empty clean clear plastic bottle which you can fill with a little sand, sea shells and skull confetti to carry your invite.

Your Message will be on a scroll that you will roll up and tie with a little ribbon and place inside the bottle, sticking slightly out of the bottle so it can be easily taken out.

Tinkerbell and Peter Pan Party Invites
To make your Tinkerbell and Peter Pan invites you could purchase stickers of the characters and use them to create original invitations, if you can find an image of Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell or Captain Hook you could always trace the image onto your invite and ask your child to colour them in, using either blue or pink card for all your Peters and Tinkerbells.

Pirate Party Games

Walk the Plank
Place a long thin plank of wood (about 2×4) on the floor and let the children take it in turns to walk the plank, you could always raise it off the ground a little on some bricks and then place some cushions/bean bags for the children to fall on (into the Sea).

Let Sleeping Pirates Lie
Choose One Pirate to sit in a chair at the front of the room with their eyes closed. One by one the other Pirates have to creep slowly past, if the pirate awakes and catches them moving they must walk the plank. The winner is the first past the pirate to the treasure without being caught.

Treasure Hunt
Hide some Hidden Treasure (Gold Coins, Sweet Necklaces) around your home or garden and set the Pirates on a Treasure Hunt giving clues if you wish.

Musical Islands
Play this game as you would the old fashioned game of Musical Chairs, but make the chairs Islands by using Cushions, Hula Hoops or coloured pieces of cardboard instead. Remember to make sure you have one less Island to Pirates and start the music. You’ll need plenty of space to play this game so you can make the Islands drift further apart.

Pirate Pinata
This is a great way to get your guests to use up the last of their energy before you have to send them home. I suggest that you hang the pinata outside as it can be very messy and the kids love to run around chasing the falling treasure. Remember to supervise the children as whacking the pinata with a large stick can be dangerous to the players and onlookers.
