2 Thick Slices Of Bread
1 Slice of Cheddar or Swiss Cheese (about 40g)
Softened Butter for Spreading
- Butter one side of each piece of bread.
- Put the cheese on the unbuttered side of the bread, cover with the other slice of bread so that the buttered side faces up.
- Heat a frying pan to a medium heat for a couple of minutes then place the sandwich in the pan.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the underside is golden, then carefully turn the sandwich over and cook the other side for a further 2-3 minutes as before.
- Carefully lift the sandwich onto a plate and cut in half and eat straight away.
For another alternative you could put a slice of ham in with the cheese or a few slices of tomato.
