Grilled Cheese Sandwich

2 Thick Slices Of Bread

1 Slice of Cheddar or Swiss Cheese (about 40g)

Softened Butter for Spreading

  1. Butter one side of each piece of bread.

  2. Put the cheese on the unbuttered side of the bread, cover with the other slice of bread so that the buttered side faces up.

  3. Heat a frying pan to a medium heat for a couple of minutes then place the sandwich in the pan.

  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the underside is golden, then carefully turn the sandwich over and cook the other side for a further 2-3 minutes as before.

  5. Carefully lift the sandwich onto a plate and cut in half and eat straight away.

For another alternative you could put a slice of ham in with the cheese or a few slices of tomato.
