Baked Apples

4 Large Cooking Apples
100g Sultanas
4 Tsp Butter
4 Tsp Soft Brown Sugar



Serves 4




  1. Set the oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6.


  2. Wash the apples and remove the cores (using a corer or sharp knife) leaving a hole in the middle of the apple.


  3. Score the skin around the widest part of each apple and place the apples in an oven-proof dish.


  4. Mix together the sultanas, sugar and butter and spoon the mixture into the holes of each apple. Press down firmly.


Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the apples are tender when pierced with a knife.
