Spelt Bread Recipe
A great Loaf made in your Bread Maker

Following this Spelt Bread Recipe for your bread maker will make the perfect loaf, well domed and shapely with a crisp golden crust and light in texture.

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cups Spelt Flour

1 1/2 Cups Strong White Bread Flour

1 1/4 Cups Water (Check your manual for Cold or Warm water)

2 Tbsp Oil

2 Tsp Salt

2 Tsp Caster (Superfine) Sugar

1 Tbsp Milk Powder

1 1/4 Tsp Instant or Fast-Acting Dried Yeast

Method

Thoroughly mix the two flours together.

Pour the water into the bread maker bucket.

Then add the oil and half the mixed flours, sprinkle with the salt, sugar and dried milk.

Cover with the remaining flour mix and mound the yeast into the center.

Fit the bucket into your bread machine and set to the recommended in the manual (usually Basic White or Number 1)

When your Spelt Loaf is ready, shake the loaf out of the bucket and leave to cool on a wire rack.
