Raspberry Freezer Jam Recipe

Making this Raspberry Freezer Jam Recipe is great for kids as it is quick and easy and it doesn't require, any sterilizing of jars or lids and you don't have to stand over a hot stove, stirring the jam and waiting for it to cook.

I love to make Freezer Jams with younger children as there is no cooking involved you can just give the kids some soft fruit, a bowl and a wooden spoon and allow them to crush the fruit without the fear of them burning themselves or that they may get bored quickly.

The great advantage about Raspberry Freezer Jam is that it preserves more Vitamin C and other Nutrients which may become lost when cooking the fruit in normal jam making.

The jam can also be easily stored in the freezer in well labelled Plastic Containers and depending on the size of your container, it will only require 3 to 5 hours to thaw and can be left refrigerated for 7 to 10 days.

Freezer Jam Containers

Here are a variety of Storage Containers and Freezer Labels you can use when storing your Freezer Jam. They are ideal to use as they are inexpensive, durable, reusable and space saving as they stack on top of one another within your freezer.

The Kitchen Tools you'll need for Jam Making

Before making your Raspberry Jam you will need to make sure you have the correct kitchen utensils there are not many required but there is nothing worse than looking for something when your in the middle of cooking.

To make Freezer Jam you will need:-

A Wooden Spoon

A Large Mixing Bowl

A Measuring Jug

Weighing Scales

Tablespoon Measure

Your Ingredients

When making Freezer Jams the you don't need too many ingredients, Using Certo Liquid pectin is best for this recipe as it only requires the fruit, sugar, lemon juice and the pectin.

Some other liquid pectins may require other sweeteners as well as the sugar, so you'll need to check your package before making the jam.

If you don't want to use fresh lemons you could buy some Lemon juice concentrate which lasts a lot longer and can be used for other recipes.

Pour into your plastic containers leaving a space just below the top and seal.

Leave the jam at room temperature for 24 hours, before labeling and freezing.

When using the jam thaw and stir, you could also transfer to jars, if you want to reuse your freezer container. Cover the jam jar with cling wrap or cellophane remembering to label the jar too.
