Pasta Carbonara Recipe

Pasta Carbonara Recipe this is a hugely Classic Sauce for Pasta, traditionally served with Bucatini or Spaghetti, but in this recipe I have used Penne Pasta.

In the Original Recipe, no cream is added to the dish.

Penne Carbonara

Serves 4

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes

Cooking Time: 10 Minutes

200g Penne Pasta

1 Tbsp Sunflower Oil

150g Diced Bacon

125ml Double Cream

125ml Chicken Stock

30g Parmesan Cheese , Finely Grated

1 Egg Yolk

Salt & Pepper

Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water, follow the instructions on the packet for time, approx 10 minutes.

In a frying pan heat the oil and fry off the bacon for 5-8 minutes until cooked and crispy.

Place the cream, chicken stock, egg yolk, parmesan and salt and pepper in a bowl and mix together.

Drain the pasta in a colander and put back in the dry saucepan.

Add the creamy mixture and bacon to the pasta and heat for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Serve with some Garlic Bread.
