Food For Kids

Did you know that the brain relies entirely on broken down carbohydrates(glucose) to function, so when blood sugar levels fall, concentration levels and behavior are affected.

This is why when you are planning food for kids that you provide them with a varied healthy balanced diet.

In order for your child to have a healthy balanced diet they need one third Grains/Potatoes, one third Fruit and Vegetables, and one third divided equally between Calcium and Protein Rich foods.

If your child eats in these proportions and a wide variety of foods then they should be getting all the essential nutrients they need for a healthy start in life.

Many people find it difficult to make their children eat healthy foods especially when there are so many fast food establishments out there that attract young children with offers and toys for them to take home and play with.

And we all know that this as a diet is not the right food for kids,to eat all of the time.

There are a number of ways in which you can get your child eating healthy foods such as fruit and vegetables:-

Try liquidizing vegetables to make soups or sauces to have with pasta,Puree fruits to make compotes to add to yogurt, porridge or serve as a treat with Ice cream.

Make fresh Fruit Smoothies for breakfast or to have as a snack.

Chop up your child's favorite vegetables and serve them with some dips.

Which child does not like Pizza make a pizza and top with a variety of vegetables and to make it fun maybe make a face and give it some rocket hair.

This is not only a great way to teach your kids how to cook,it is a fantastic way to get your kids cooking healthy recipes. Children don't normally like to eat what is good for them, but if you can make healthy foods look and sound interesting by creating exciting dishes.

Let them make patterns on their dinner plates, give the vegetables funny names, turn Sprouts into Dollies Cabbages, broccoli florets into a forest.

Not only are you getting them to eat and understand different fruits and vegetables as a child, teaching them how to cook them.

You are setting them up in the right direction as an adult and for the rest of their life.

Cooking Healthy Kids Recipes together is a great way to spend some quality time with your kids, to get them away from the t.v. or their favorite game console.

You may have some moans and groans when you first start this but Cooking Activities for Kids are a fabulous way for your children to express themselves and be creative.
