Easy Chicken and Ham Pie

by Margit
(Shropshire. U.K.)

My kids love this easy Chicken and Ham pie, if I have a large enough whole chicken for our roast on a Sunday I will use some of the left over meat to make the pie, otherwise I will roast 4 extra Chicken Breasts along with the roast and use these the next day.

This Easy Chicken and ham pie only takes 15 minutes to prepare and 30 to 35 minutes to cook, so is very easy for a busy Mom or Dad...

You will need:-

4 Ready Roasted Chicken Breasts, shredded

100g Cooked Smoked Ham, cubed

150ml Double Cream

75ml Chicken Gravy

2 Tbsps Finely Chopped Parsley

1 Tsp Cornflour

1/2 Tsp English Mustard

250g Ready-Rolled Puff Pastry

1 Medium Egg, Beaten

Ground Black Pepper

Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 6, 200C or Fan Oven 180C.

Put the chicken in a large bowl with the ham, then add the cream, gravy, parsley, cornflour and mustard. Season with Black Pepper and mix well.

Spoon the mixture into a shallow 1 litre baking dish, unroll the puff pastry and position over the top of the dish to cover the meat.

Trim the pastry to fit the dish, then press the edges down lightly around the rim.

Brush the egg over the pastry.

Cook for 30-35 minutes until the pastry is golden and puffed up.

Serve straight away with potatoes and veggies of your choice.
