Chocolate Mousse Recipe
This delightful Chocolate Mousse Recipe will serve 8 people it is very rich but your guests and family will ask for it again and again.
The Kids will love to help you mix this chocolate mousse delight.
You Will Need:-
400g Dark Chocolate
210 Double Cream
6 Eggs Separated
50g Caster Sugar
2 Tablespoons Icing Sugar
4 Amaretti Biscuits, Crushed
Firstly melt the chocolate in a glass bowl either in a microwave on defrost setting, or over a saucepan of boiling water.
Separate all of the eggs and mix 4 of the yolks together. Discard the remaining 2 egg yolks and keep the 6 egg whites in a bowl for later.
Stir in 4-5 tablespoons of the melted chocolate to the yolks and mix in well.
After mixing, pour the chocolate yolk mixture into the remaining melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.
Whip the cream lightly, then carefully fold 1/3 of the cream into the chocolate mix. Then add the chocolate mixture into the remaining cream.
Whisk all 6 egg whites until 'rough' looking.
Add the caster sugar and gently fold into the chocolate mixture.
Carefully spoon the chocolate mousse into bowls or glasses and allow them to chill for 1 hour.
Finally, just prior to serving, sprinkle the crushed amaretti biscuits and icing sugar over the mousse.
